THE NARROW WAY

THE NARROW WAY When Jesus spoke of the narrow way, he was referring to the paths of righteousness and obedience to God’s commands. Following these paths leads to salvation. In Matthew (7:13-14), Jesus says, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Jesus here is warning us that the path that is easy and comfortable may lead to destruction, and only the narrow path of righteousness and obedience to God’s commands will lead to life. In essence, this means that being a follower of Christ requires sacrifice and discipline. We must deny ourselves of worldly pleasures and temptations and focus on the spiritual aspects of life. This doesn't mean we can't enjoy the earthly pleasures and possessions, but it does mean that our focus must be on God and His commands and standards for our lives. T...

Powerful Psalms For Spiritual Warfare

Powerful Psalms For Spiritual Warfare Psalms 68:1- 4 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice. Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. In the realm of the spirit there are a lot of activities going on, just as in the physical realm. Some of these activities are carried out in favor of humans while others are simply planned to harm lives and destinies, (Job 1) . It may surprise you to know that, as the Lord is busy planning and distributing blessings and answers to prayers to we His children, the devil is also positioning his agents to steal and destroy these blessing or at least hinder them from getting to the rightful owner (Daniel 10...

Let Christ Live Through Us

Topic: Let Christ Live Through Us Matthew 9:9, “And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.” Text: Matthew 9:9-10, Mark 2:14-15, Luke 5:27-29 To “follow” means to come or go after; move behind in the same direction; to come or go with; to accept the guidance or leadership of; to adhere to the cause or principles of; to be governed by; obey; comply with (Jn. 10:27-29; Rom. 10:9-10, 13). When a person first comes to Jesus, it is impossible to know everything that following Jesus entails. No one, however, should be fearful of making a total commitment because of some imagined problem that may never come to pass. There should be a willingness to forsake everything to follow Jesus. Once we make that decision, then Christ begins to live through us and we find a strength that is not our own, equal to whatever test we may encounter (Gal. 2:20). It is Christ li...
Jesus is the Truth The claims of Christianity are powerful: A man named Jesus was God in the flesh. He died for your sins and was raised bodily from the dead, conquering death forever. A fresh start, forgiveness and personal transformation are all possible because of this. Real, absolute truth not only exists, but it is also accessible in meaningful ways with profound implications. You can live forever. You can know God, and God loves you, and He wants to show the world His love through His Church, which is the pillar and ground of all truth (1 Tim 3:15). If this is true, though, why does said church seem so messed up? Why can’t we get along? Why are there so many different groups that seem to think they have the corner on the truth and what it means to be a Christian? Some studies suggest there are tens of thousands of Christian denominations, all differing on various points of doctrine and practice. Many people point to this as evidence that Christianity can’t be true, because ...

THE GREATEST NEED OF MAN

Image
THE GREATEST NEED OF MAN Acts 16:22-31  The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten.  After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully.  Upon receiving such orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.  About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.  Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose.  The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped.  But Paul shouted, "Don't harm yourself! We are all here!"  The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul a...

A walk with God

Image
A walk with God Genesis 5:21-24 📖 Enoch had such a close walk with the Lord that Scripture says, 'and he was not, for God took him' (Gen. 5:24).  This means that Enoch did not die, but was taken directly into the presence of the Lord. What a wonderful testimony! As we seek to follow God with passion like Enoch's, let's learn some specific steps that will help us grow in our walk with the Lord.  Reconciliation. This term essentially means 'God moving toward us.' The joy of this step is that we bear no responsibility; it's all up to Him. Through the cross of Jesus Christ, God has already made His move in our direction. (See 2 Cor. 5:18.) When we place faith in the Savior, we immediately take part in that reconciliation.  Trusting God. Our heavenly Father wants us to know He is concerned with our spiritual growth. He also wants us to trust that He has, through Christ, provided the means by which we can walk intimately with Him.  Agreement. To apprec...

BE SURE

Be Sure How can you be sure that you have accepted Christ? A true Christian is someone who believes in God and has asked Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to be their Lord and Savior. How can you be sure that you have accepted Christ? A true Christian is someone who believes in God and has asked Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to be their Lord and Savior. God sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world to die for our sins. All of us have done, said or thought things that are wrong. These are called sins and we deserve to be punished for them. The good news is God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16 When you sincerely ask Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior and to forgive your sins, you are accepting Christ as your savior. The Bible says “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God...
