Who Is A Wise Man?

Who Is A Wise Man? Man's interest in wisdom dates back to Adam and Eve. The serpent used the promise of wisdom to tempt Eve. In Genesis 3:5-6, the serpent urged Eve to eat the forbidden fruit by promising: "Then your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." As Eve pondered the situation, she determined that the fruit of the tree was "to be desired to make one wise." And they both ate thereof. However, we must hasten to draw a clear distinction between wisdom and education. Obviously both a parrot and a fool can be educated. Webster, tells us that "wisdom" is "the ability to judge soundly and deal shrewdly with facts." In other words wisdom is the good sound "common sense" to use our knowledge and ability in the best possible way. In the New Testament, in James 3:13, it is written: "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdo...

Sold millions of books. And most certainly created thousands ...

A Positive Outlook for a Positive Life

A Positive Outlook for a Positive Life Our outlook and attitude on life, in general, plays a huge part in how happy we are in life and how successful we become. Someone who thinks positively about everything will be more relaxed, calm and smile more than someone who is always looking at the bad side, who lets stress get to them and who constantly wear a frown. Not only does how you think and feel affect you, it also affects those around you, in short, our mood affects our day. Developing and keeping a positive outlook is essential if you wish to lead a positive and fulfilling life. There are many ways in which you can develop a more positive outlook and begin to change how you think and feel about many situations that you encounter in day-to-day living. The five main key points to remember when changing your outlook are Turn your way of think...

How to Be Both Passionate and Talented at What You Do

How to Be Both Passionate and Talented at What You Do How to Be Both Passionate and Talented at What You Do Passion is what motivates you to do better at everything you do in life. What does it mean to be passionately curious about something that is so profoundly, utterly different? I think the answer is this: It means you are willing to take a step outside of yourself in order to engage and understand an experience that cannot exist within your own context or point of view because it has no frame of reference. What is the right balance between talent and passion? In order to be successful, it is essential to be passionate about what you do. But what if you're not naturally talented at what you're passionate about? Is it still possible to be successful? The answer is yes, but it requires a lot of hard work and focus. Pursuing your passion without any talent is like trying to climb a mountain without a rope – you might make it to the top, but it will be a lot harder than if yo...

What is talent? Talent or passion?

What is talent? Talent or passion? A passion (hobby, interest) is to have an object that we are happy to deal with, which makes us want to maintain or deepen our contact with it, to gather knowledge about it, to look at it, to listen to it, to read it or to perform many other activities related to it. This object of passion can be any object (postage stamps, CDs with the music of Cult or the history of France) or any kind of activity (growing orchids, cycling or drawing). So, talking about passions is talking about human attitudes, the motives that guide us, our desires and interests. Passion is not the same as talent. Talent is a concept in the field of ability and efficiency, i.e. qualities that we possess permanently. Talent has an impact on how well we do a given activity compared to others. Of course, we know that more or less efficient doing something (e.g. solving tasks in mathematics or jumping away) also depends on whether and how much experience we have had in a given f...

BECOMING THE MASTER OF YOUR MIND

INTRODUCTION Your mind is the most powerful tool you have for the creation of good in your life, but if not used correctly, can also be the most destructive force in your life. Your mind, more specifically, your thoughts, affect your perception and therefore, your interpretation of reality. I have heard that the average person thinks around 70,000 thoughts a day. That’s a lot, especially if they are unproductive, self-abusive and just a general waste of energy. You can let your thoughts run amok, but why would you? It is your mind, your thoughts; isn’t it time to take your power back? Isn’t it time to take control? Choose to be the person who is actively, consciously thinking your thoughts. Become the master of your mind. When you change your thoughts, you will change your feelings as well, and you will also eliminate the triggers that set off those feelings. Both of these outcomes provide you with a greater level of peace in your mind. I currently have few thoughts that are not o...
